Jay Malone: Stand-up Comic
Jay Malone has been headlining comedy clubs across North America for the past seven years. In that time he has made multiple appearances at the “Just For Laughs Festival” in Montreal, Canada where he won the prestigious Homegrown National Competition in 2004. The very next year he shot a coveted Gala Special at the festival making him the only comedian to win the Homegrown and perform a gala back-to-back and will be returning to Just For Laughs in the summer of 2010 for his second gala. Jay has also performed his own one-hour nationally televised comedy special “Comedy NOW!” for CTV, which led to his nomination as the “Best Male Stand-up Comic” in Canada at the Canadian Comedy Awards.
In December of 2009 Jay shot his own half hour Comedy Special for “SHOWTIME” at the El Portal theatre in Burbank, California. The special is set to air in August of 2010.
Actor and Animator
In addition to stand-up, Jay is also an accomplished actor and has appeared in guest starring roles on MONK (USA), NICS LA (ABC), The Big Bang Theory (CBS), Boston Legal (ABC), Worst Week of My Life (CBS) and Dollhouse (FOX) respectively. He has also appeared in several National commercials for such companies as “Verizon”, “Kia”, “Toyota”, “Bud Light”, “Dominos” and “Crest”.
In November of 2009, Jay was awarded a Development deal with FOX for his Animated Short: SANTA INTERVENTION, which was awarded first prize in the international animation competition “The FOX Holiday Challenge” sponsored by Aniboom (an online site for animators). As a result, Jay is currently in development with FOX for his own animated series.
